Perth Orthodontic Appliances: Invisalign, Braces & More

Metal Braces
Metal braces are still the most commonly used appliance in orthodontics today. They can treat a wide range of orthodontic problems. Advances in technology means modern braces are smaller, more comfortable and requires less visits. Fun colours can be added to metal braces. Visit PaintYourSmile.com to see what you look like with braces and colours.

Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made from translucent material which mimics tooth colour. They are much less noticeable than metal braces, yet can treat a wide range of orthodontic problems just like metal braces.

Incognito Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are placed on the back side of your teeth therefore providing invisible treatment. Each of these braces is custom made for you so the best result can be delivered.

Invisalign
Invisalign utilises a series of clear removable aligners designed to gradually move your teeth into proper alignment. It is an aesthetic alternative to braces for treating mild to moderate orthodontic problems. The aligners are custom made to address each patient’s problems, with the orthodontist programming the tooth movement. For Invisalign treatment to work, you need to wear the aligners for at least 20 hours per day.

AcceleDent
AcceleDent is a new and exciting device for those who wish to shorten their treatment time. By wearing AcceleDent for only 20 minutes a day, the system can speed up tooth movement and decrease the duration of the orthodontic treatment.

Removable Appliances (Plates)
Removable appliances are mainly used in children to alter jaw grow and to improve the relationship between the upper and lower teeth. For teenager and adult patients, removable appliances are mainly used as retainers or for very mild tooth movement.

Extra-Oral Appliances
Extra-oral appliances include headgears and facemasks. These appliances are designed to alter your jaw growth, and used in conjunction with braces or plates. For the appliance to work, you need to wear the headgear or facemask at least 12 to 14 hours per day.

Expansion Appliances
Expansion plates are used when the upper jaw is too narrow and interferes with the closing of the lower jaw. Expansion plates can either be removable or cemented to your teeth depending on your age and the amount of expansion required.
